  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, 3 ft (0.9 m), compact.  Leaves alternate, simple, more or less elliptic, 9 cm long, narrow, pointed, dark green above, lighter below with thin, pale pubescence.  Flowers rosy-moderate red, corolla funnel-shaped, about 6.5 cm wide, heavy with bloom; flower buds reddish.
  • 0°F, early-mid, quality rating 3-4/4/4 [flower / plant & foliage / performance; scale 1 (poor) - 5 (best)].  Sun to part shade.  Developed by Amberconway, 1939.  Received Award of Merit (English), 1950.
