- Broadleaf evergreen shrub, 3 ft (0.9 m), compact. Leaves alternate, simple, more or less elliptic, 9 cm long, narrow, pointed, dark green above, lighter below with thin, pale pubescence. Flowers rosy-moderate red, corolla funnel-shaped, about 6.5 cm wide, heavy with bloom; flower buds reddish.
