  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, 6 ft (1.8 m) in 10 years, vigorous.  Leaves medium olive green.  Flowers rosy lilac, funnel-shaped, about 6.5 cm wide, with a small brown blotch, about 20 per rounded cluster.
  • - 25°F, mid-late, quality rating 2/3/4 [flower / plant & foliage / performance; scale 1 (poor) - 5 (best)].  Flowers are rated down because of their size, but are still attractive.  Very cold hardy and also succeeds in hot climates.   A very old cultivar, introduced by Anthony Waterer about 1851.
