  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, low growing, 30 inches (75 cm) in 10 yr.  Leaves medium green, medium size, to 7.6 cm long, fuzzy.  Flowers white, with black stamens, 5 cm wide, in a loose cluster (truss).
  • - 5°F, early, 3-4/4-5/4 [flower / plant & foliage / performance; scale 1 (poor) - 5 (best)].  Sun or shade, booms well even in deep shade.
  • Oregon State Univ. campus: north side (front) of Memorial Union, west end.
