  • Conifer, evergreen, to 200 ft (60 m), narrow conical crown, pendulous branches, smooth bark.  Needles narrow, linear, 3-6 cm long and 1.5-2 mm wide, loosely arranged on the upper side of the twig, acute or unevenly two pointed, bright green above and gray-green below.   Cones cylindrical, erect, 12-17 cm long, 6-7 cm thick, dark purple and ripening brown.
