  • Deciduous tree, to 35 ft by 15 ft [10 x 4.5 m] not really columnar except when young, narrow, upright, vase-shaped when older.  Fall color orange to orange-red.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 4      Raised at Arnold Arboretum from a seedling of the original P. sargentii introduction.  Named in 1939 and introduced in 1949 (Jacobson, 1996).
