  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, dwarf, low growing, after years may exceed 4 ft (1.2 m), greater spread, mounded, compact.  Small leaves, 13 mm long, 2-4 teeth on each side, frequently young leaves are yellowish.  Reportedly a female clone but only rarely flowers or fruits.
  • Sun to part shade.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone (5) 6     Introduced in 1936 by J. Heller of Newport, RI.
  • Oregon State Univ. campus: north side of parking lot along Orchard Ave and west of Cordley Hall.
