  • Deciduous tree, to 30-40 ft (9-12 m) tall.  Flowers are large, 25-30 cm wide, nodding, clear, rich pink, of about 12 tepals (petals).  Seed cones considered very ornamental.
  • Sun or part shade; fast growing.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 6    Developed in at Caerhays Castle, Cornmall, England, from a cross of M. sargentiana var. robusta × M. sprenger ‘Diva’  It first flowered in 1965 and introduced into North America in 1972.
