  • Conifer, evergreen, weeping branches with blue needles, must be staked to develop a leader.
  • Sun or partial shade.   Prefers moist, well-drained, deep loamy soil, but tolerates clay soils.  Protect for sweeping winds.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 6    Raised by a nurseryman in France, named in 1900.  In North American commerce since about 1943 (Jacobson, 1996).
