  • Evergreen shrub, slow growing, symmetrical, dense dome to 3-4 ft high and a similar width..  Leaves glossy green, alternate, simple, 1-3 cm long, elliptic, pointed.  Flowers pendulous, small, pinkish in buds, emerging white during late winter-spring; in small, short clusters.  Usually a heavy bloomer.
  • Sun to light shade, requires acid soils, good drainage; drought tolerant.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 7    Some consider it a selection from Arctostaphylos densiflora, which is native to Sonoma County, California.  it originated in the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens.
