  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, similar to the species, but its new growth is reddish-copper.  It is also similar to the cultivar 'Paradise'.
  • Sun or light shade.  Best on well-drained soils
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 8?      Collected by Brent Hall of the U.C. Santa Cruz Arboretum and given as a gift to a local nurseryman.  Years later the nurseryman introduced it as 'Brent's Beauty'; Brent had suggested a very different cultivar name.
