  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, grows to 4 ft (1.2 m) high (occasionally higher) with a similar spread, mounded.  Leaves edged with a narrow band of yellow or white.
  • Sun, but best in partial shade.  Adaptable to many soil types, but needs good drainage.  ‘Marginata’ is more widely grown than the species.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 7
  • Oregon State Univ. campus: near door on the east side of University Theaters (Withycombe).
