  • Hardy to USDA Zone 5      Originated from a "witches' broom", discovered and named by James N. Karcher, Grounds Manager at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC), Wooster, Ohio.  Secrest Arboretum is on the OARDC campus.
