  • Evergreen shrub, dense, upright, grows to 10-15 ft (3-4.5 m) high and 10 ft (3 m) wide, or more.  Leaves very glossy green, slight twist and spiny margins; reportedly become less spiny with maturity.  (Some suggest it is a selection of Osmanthus × fortunei.)
  • Part shade, prefers fertile, moist, well drained, acid soil, but tolerates higher pH soils.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone (6) 7, reportedly more cold tolerant than the species.
