Common Name: 
Often spelt Spirea in common names or in some nursery product lines

Some 80 or more species of deciduous shrubs.  Leaves alternate, simple, serrate, dentate, or lobed, usually with short petioles.  Flowers white, pink, or reddish, in clusters, usually bisexual, 5 sepals, 4-5 petals, numerous stamens.  Fruit usually has 2-10 oblong seeds.  Native to Asia, Europe, North America, and Mexico.
