  • Conifer, evergreen, shrub, rounded in shape with glossy deep green foliage (‘Gruene Kugel’, 'Grüne Kugel' = green ball), it forms a small compact tree, 4 ft tall and 3 ft wide (1.2 x 0.9 m) in 10 years.
  • Sun to partial shade
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 5             Introduced by Kurt Wittboldt-Müeller who died in 2017 and left “behind an impressive number of cultivars, launching the German craze for Japanese umbrella pines”.
