  • Deciduous tree, weeping habit with somewhat horizontal branches and drooping secondary branches, leaves are green and round; fall color yellow-orange and brown.
  • Originated in Milton Park, Northamptonshire, England, apparently from ‘Pendula’, and first publicized in 1832.  Jacobson (1996, p. 205) states that the "original clone was less propagated than imposters, some of which are not remarkably pendulous."  In any case, the most commonly sold clone called ‘Miltonensis’ has branches that are more horizontal that those of ‘Pendula’ and leaves that are rounder.
