Six species of herbaceous perennials with creeping rhizomes.  Leaves alternate, lobed, or trifoliate, in a rosette.  Flowers yellow, solitary or a few together, calyx 5-lobed, calyx tube funnel-shaped, 5 petals, many stamens.  Found in wooded areas of North temperate regions.
