  • Broadleaf, deciduous (or semi-evergreen), very dwarf tree or low growing shrub, slow growing to about 1 ft (30 cm) tall in 5 years; may reach over 3 ft (90 cm).  Leaves simple, alternate, very small, leathery, margin single toothed.
  • Sun.  Usually grown in a rock garden and/or as a bonsai.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 5
