  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, more compact than the species, growing to 4-6 ft (1.2-1.6 m) tall and twice wide, or wider.  Leaves dark green and narrow.  Flower are greenish-white and rather inconspicuous, but they are followed by dark red, almost black, fruit.
  • Sun or shade.  Not particular about soil, limited or no irrigation required, can be pruned and shaped.  Can be used as a large-scale ground cover.
