  • Conifer, evergreen tree, to 60 ft (18 m) tall, more open than the species, densely branched to the ground, conical crown, needles especially dark green; "forms a very elegant tree" (van Gelderen and van Hoey Smith, 1997).
  • Sun.  Tolerates gravelly soils.  Protect from harsh winter winds.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 4      Developed by den Ouden, Boskoop, Holland before 1911.
