- Hardy to USDA Zone 3 It is a seedling of ‘Floribunda’. According to Dirr (2009), most of the planted seedlings where uprooted by birds and only one remained and it was given the name 'Unique'; apparently the birds were given no credit for their selection pressure. It was introduced in 1968.
