  • Large deciduous shrub, upright, may reach 6-10 ft high.  Flowers in large clusters, 8-15 inches (19-38 cm) long, at first white then tune pinkish which intensifies with age.
  • Sun to part shade, best in rich, well-drained, moist soil.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 3      It is a seedling of ‘Floribunda’.   According to Dirr (2009), most of the planted seedlings where uprooted by birds and only one remained and it was given the name 'Unique'; apparently the birds were given no credit for their selection pressure.   It was introduced in 1968.
