  • Hardy to USDA Zone 4    Golden Nugget and Sunsation are siblings that were selected from a group of 50-100 seedlings around 1977.   The seedlings were from an uncontrolled cross believed to be Berberis thunbergii ‘Aurea’ crossed with Berberis thunbergii ‘Kobold’.  The Golden Nugget US patent is PP9,577.
