]Two species (C. hookerianum and C. patagua) of large evergreen shrubs or small trees. Leaves alternate or opposite, simple, toothed, and somewhat leathery. Flowers solitary or paired, hang down from pedicels (stalks); produced on new growth. Native to Argentina and Chile.

Crinodendron: from the Greek, krinŏn, lily, and, dendron, tree;  the lily part is a reference to the white, fragrant, lily-like flowers of C. patagua.
