- Deciduous multi-stemmed shrub or small tree, zigzag branching, especially on new growth, some spines on branches, may attain a height of 8-10 ft (2.4-3 m) with a somewhat greater spread. Leaves dark green, some curling of mature leaflets, turn yellow in fall. Produces few flowers or seed pods.
- Sun to part shade
- Hardy to USDA Zone 4 Patented in 1996 under the cultivar name of ‘Lady Lace’ (PP 9771), but sold under the trademarked name of Twisty Baby. Offered in nurseries as a multi-stemmed shrub, a single trunk tree or tree top-grafted to a standard at a height of about 6 ft (1.8 m).
