  • Broadleaf deciduous shrub, large, 6-8 ft tall and wide (1.8-2.4 m).  Flowers of medium size in shades of light to deep pink, fragrant.
  • Flower buds survive - 40°F.  Best in light shade.
  • Northern Lights are F1 hybrid seedlings resulting from a cross between R. × kosteranum and R. prinophyllum.  Introduced in 1978, the first in the series developed at the University of Minnesota.
  • Oregon State Univ. campus: north of the northeast entrance to the Memorial Union.
