  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, upright, large, 6 ft (1.8 m).  Leaves large (ca. 15 by 5 cm), elliptic, acute, dull dark green, brownish or silvery below, heavy texture.  Flowers dark red with black/brown spotting, bell-shaped (tubular campanulate), 5.5 cm wide, cone-shaped truss.
  • 5°F, early, 4/4/4 [flower / plant & foliage / performance; scale 1 (poor) - 5 (best)].  Part shade, a good warm weather variety, give shelter from wind, seems to be fairly resistant to root weevils.  Vigorous and easy to grow.
  • A cross of R. arboreum × 'Moser's Maroon'
