  • Broadleaf deciduous shrub, to about 6 ft high and 5 ft wide (1.8 × 1.5 m), arching, purple branches apparent in winter.  Leaves opposite, simple, lanceolate, deep green with clear white-silver venation which may be lost with shade and age.  Flowers perfect, yellow with some green, appear before leaves.
