  • Deciduous shrub, dwarf cultivar, 1 ft high and 2-3 ft wide (0.3 x 0.6-0.9 m), compact, flat-topped. Leaves opposite, simple, ovate leaves, serrated, 2-4.5 cm long.  The stem is often greenish, and the pith chambered. Flowers perfect, yellow.
  • This cultivar grows well in a container.  Popular in the Midwest and East.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 5        Species native to China. ‘Bronxensis’ was grown from a Japanese seed source at the Bronx Botanical Garden, New York, 1939.
