  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, 4-6 ft (1.2-1.8 m) tall and wide, less in northern climates.  Leaves opposite, simple, oval; some report it retains dark green color in winter whereas others say it bronzes in winter but returns to green in spring.
  • Sun to part shade.  Very winter hardy.  Sold under a variety of scientific names; see Synonyms.
